In my experience, the technology risks that cause the most damage are not the ones leadership is already worried about. They are the ones that have been stable long enough that no one is paying attention. Legacy systems that have not been updated in years, integrations that were built as temporary solutions and never replaced, and vendor relationships that have never been formally reviewed are where the real exposure sits. A structured assessment surfaces those risks before they surface on their own at a worse moment.
