An interim CIO is not the same as a fractional CIO
Technology leadership
These two arrangements are often used interchangeably but they serve different purposes. An interim CIO is typically a full-time engagement for a defined period, bridging between permanent leaders or covering a specific crisis or transition. A fractional CIO is a part-time ongoing arrangement where the executive serves multiple clients simultaneously. Each model has situations where it fits well and situations where it does not. Companies that default to one without thinking through what they actually need often end up with the wrong structure.

How to Make Fractional Leadership Work

I work as a fractional CIO or CTO for companies that need senior technology leadership without a full-time hire.
